Heartracer is a alternative rock / synth-pop project formed by Chris Cosby. The name was derived from Chris’ tachycardia diagnoses, a disorder which causes the heart to beat faster at random intervals. Combining modern production methods with the classic pop songwriting reminiscent of simpler times, Heartracer’s sound is that of anthemic grandeur. Unabashedly drawing on inspiration from pop icons of the past, their sound provides a wide ranging pallete of interwoven synths, guitars, and swooning vocals that ultimately embalm the listener with nostalgic cinematic wonder. Joining longtime friend Wes Tatum the band consists of Chris Cosby (keyboards/lead vocals), Chip Cosby (guitar/vocals), and Wes Tatum (Bass, Keyboards, Vocals). Their latest album, The Feel (2023), Vehlinggo referreed to as one of the best albums of 2023 as well as being hailed as “a synthpop masterpiece” by independent music reviews. Recorded in their home studio for the past two years the trio will release their newest material and 3rd studio album ‘Nighttime Fever’ on October 23rd this year.
